Some more wet -- and possibly snowy -- weather is in the forecast for the Rogue Valley for Wednesday through later this week, but it won't have nearly the impact of Tuesday's snow or the heralding rain from the day before. That weather will be at the hands of another system coming in from the northwest on Friday, which could trigger some showers and lower snow levels, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Marc Spilde. "The snow level looks to be in the 1,500 to 2,500-foot range with that particular event," Spilde said. "It doesn't look anything like the recent event that we just had, so we're not expecting a lot in the way of accumulation there." Elevations above about 2,000 feet or so may end up with an inch or two of snow, but the amount on the valley floors will be sparing, if any. Where Tuesday was all about big, fluffy flakes, Friday will be more showery. "Friday's basically rain and snow showers mixed," Spilde said. That system pushes east Friday night, followed by a cold Saturday morning. Another front is forecast to set up south of Southwest Oregon Friday night into Saturday, meaning a chance for some new snow in parts of Northern California. "The farther north and west you go, the less chance for precipitation," Spilde said. South and east of the Cascades is the best bet. If anywhere were to be impacted by snow, travel-wise, it would be most likely be just north of the Mt. Shasta area in the Black Butte area.
