Empty Bowls event April 28 will benefit food banks Wednesday Apr 5, 2017 at 12:13 PM Apr 5, 2017 at 12:13 PM Ashland Peace House is again sponsoring Empty Bowls, a community event to benefit the hungry in Southern Oregon. Proceeds go to ACCESS Inc., Ashland Emergency Food Bank, Food Angels and Uncle Foods Diner. The event will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 28, in the First United Methodist Church’s Wesley Hall, 175 N. Main St., Ashland. Participants choose handmade bowls made by local potters, which will be filled with soups supplied by area restaurants. Local bakeries are donating bread. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for students. Contributing artists and children under 12 are free. Tickets may be purchased in Ashland at Paddington Station, Northwest Nature Shop, online at peacehouse.net, or at the door.
