The man, whose name has not been released, called Josephine County dispatchers just before 7 a.m. to report that he had accidentally shot his brother while trying to load a firearm because there was a bear on their property, in the 2000 block of Placer Road, according to the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office. “It is believed the caller took his own life after calling 911 to report the accidental shooting,” the sheriff’s office said in a written statement.
