At about 4 p.m., Talent police say David Andrew Mihaljevich, 63, was suffering a medical episode when he drove his Toyota RAV4 into Gabrielle Utzman-Vale's home at a manufactured-home park in the 300 block of Mountain View Drive. The vehicle allegedly traveled at a high speed in the park, crashed into the victim's home near her living room, striking her, then drove nearly the length of the home before crashing out a side wall, police said. The victim was sitting in her chair in the living room when she was struck by the vehicle. She was the sole occupant in the home. Mihaljevich also lives in the manufactured-home park. Police and fire received initial reports of an explosion and fire at the manufactured home because of the noise and debris from the crash. No fire or explosion was found upon investigation. The victim was transported to Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center Friday for serious but not life-threatening injuries, police said. An Asante spokeswoman said Utzman-Vale was in good condition on Saturday. The case is being reviewed, but no charges have yet been filed.
