Alex Reid reads 'A Child's Christmas in Wales' Dec 23, 2011 12:00 AM A A Alex Reid will present his fifth annual reading of Dylan Thomas' "A Child's Christmas in Wales" at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24, at Alex's Plaza Restaurant and Bar, 35 N. Main St., Ashland. Reid is the original owner of Alex's. Welsh writer Thomas recorded the poem in 1952. It is an anecdotal retelling of a Christmas from the perspective of a child and romanticizes Christmases past as nostalgic and simpler times. There is no cover. Call 541-482-8818.
