Photo by Jim Craven Hope Engberg and Matthew Pronesti of Medford are the junior king and queen for the 1999 Pear Blossom Festival. Young monarchs earn crowns for Pear Blossom Hope Engberg and Matthew Pronesti, both 5, of Medford, were crowned queen and king at Saturday's Pear Blossom Junior Royalty pageant. Hope's parents are David and Joyce Engberg; Matthew's are Michael and Rhonda Pronesti. The first runner-ups were Manaema Butte and Braxton Parker. Three judges picked the winners out of 21 girls and four boys, using personality, poise and appearance as their guide.
