Child missing after Butte Falls house fire Firefighters were still looking early this morning for a child in a Butte Falls residence after fire destroyed the second story of the home Tuesday night. One other child was taken to Rogue Valley Medical Center for treatment of burns. A mother and two other children were not injured in the fire, which was called in to authorities at 9:43 p.m. Fire engines from the Butte Falls volunteer fire department, as well as those from Fire Districts 3 and 4, responded to the scene, which was in unprotected rural land. Shady Cove police also arrived to offer assistance. When crews arrived the second story of the home was engulfed in flames; it was unclear at press time how the fire started.
