Irving leads gymnasts in local contest Hailey Irving of the Medford Elite Gymnastic Academy finished second overall in Level 6 for 12-year-olds at the Pear Invitational Level 4-6 girls compulsory meet Saturday in Medford. Irving's top event was a winning performance in the uneven bars. Erica Guches of MEGA finished second in all-around and Sarah Louie took third in all-around in the Level 6, 7-10-year-old division. Louie finished first in the balance beam and floor exercise. Two other MEGA competitors, Christian Hodge and Kinzie Towry, won all-around in their respective divisions. Hodge won the Level 5, 7-8-year-old class, while Towry won the Level 4, 10-year-old category. Level 5, age 12 Hailey Irving -- vault, 2nd, 9.35; balance beam, 3rd, 8.6; uneven bars, 1st, 9.0; floor exercise, 4th, 8.35; all-around, 2nd, 35.55.
