You can add one more to the list. Sophomore Andrea Garris served points seven through 12 and junior middle Megan Brown slammed home three crucial kills in the fifth and decisive game to lead Cascade Christian to a 25-18, 17-25, 25-22, 8-25, 15-12 Southern Cascade League victory Tuesday night in a packed St. Mary’s gym. The win boosted the 10th-ranked Challengers to 6-0 in the SCL and 8-5 overall. St. Mary’s slipped to 2-4 and 10-10. St. Mary’s rolled to a definitive victory in Game 4 behind the strong serving of Cynthia Naumes and built a 9-6 lead in Game 5 when Garris stepped to the service line and turned the match around. "She (Garris) hit us with some deep, low trajectory serves that we had trouble with," said St. Mary’s coach James Joy. "She only had one ace during that stretch, but we couldn’t get an attack going. We gave them some free balls, and they put some kills away." Advertisement Junior right side Alyssa Teterud smacked the 14th point with a Cascade kill, and Brown finished off the Crusaders with another kill. St. Mary’s had the option of serving first in Game 5, and that gave Cascade Christian its choice of which side to serve from. It chose the east end of the gym, where it had won Games 1 and 3. "I definitely think we felt more comfortable at that end," Cascade Christian coach Susan Gmur said. Melissa Gmur, the coach’s daughter, led the Challengers with seven kills, 10 assists and 23-for-23 serving. Junior libero Kelsey Ost added 19 digs. For St. Mary’s, senior outside Kelsey Reedy generated a career-high 25 kills. Junior outside Melissa Lass also had a career night with 18 kills and 21 digs. "She (Lass) was all over the court offensively and defensively," Joy said. Naumes, the Crusaders’ sophomore setter, added 41 assists, and libero Tia Khachitphet had 41 digs. Skyline Conference HIDDEN VALLEY 3, ROGUE RIVER 0 — At Rogue River, strong serving enabled Hidden Valley to defeat Rogue River 25-7, 25-10, 25-12 for the Skyline win. Megan Swanson served 17-for-18 and Kendra Morgan 10-for-10. Swanson also had seven kills and six aces, while Morgan added seven kills for Hidden Valley (4-3 Skyline). The Chieftains (0-6 Skyline) were led by Jessica Miller (six aces), Tianna Sanislow (seven digs) and Kaitlin Hoffman (eight kills). HENLEY 3, ILLINOIS VALLEY 0 — At Klamath Falls, sixth-ranked Henley remained unbeaten in the Skyline with a 25-11, 25-20, 25-8 victory. Junior middle Megan Christensen and setter Sierra Patzke sparked the Hornets (19-2, 8-0 Skyline). Christensen pounded 11 kills, and Patzke distributed 25 assists. Illinois Valley had trouble passing Henley’s serve. MAZAMA 3, NORTH VALLEY 0 — At Merlin, Jessica Davina had 13 kills and five blocks to pace Mazama to a 25-23, 25-20, 25-17 road victory. Skyline A League BUTTE FALLS 3, PROSPECT 0 — At Butte Falls, Butte Falls remained undefeated in Sky A competition after the 25-17, 25-19, 25-23 conference win. The Loggers were led by senior Shawna Wright (seven kills, four blocks) and sophomore Karlee Stephenson (11 aces). Jossalyn Burg and Nikki Harms added eight assists and six aces, respectively, for Butte Falls (7-2, 6-0 Sky A). Prospect (5-2 Sky A) received six kills from Lacy Musard, while Megan Shallenberger served 14-for-14.
