Launching OCT's 32nd season will be "Noises Off," a spoof written by Michael Frayn that takes audiences behind the scenes of a theatrical production called "Nothing On." Told in three acts with a rotating set, it provides scenes from both onstage and off as the ill-fated new farce careens from catastrophic dress rehearsals to history-making failures during its run. "Noises Off" runs from Feb. 9 to April 9. The Cabaret’s spring show, "The All Night Strut," is a two-act musical celebration of the 1930s and '40s filled with jazz, blues, bebop and American songbook standards. Weaving together the work of legendary songwriters such as Hoagy Carmichael, Frank Loesser, Duke Ellington, Johnny Mercer, Cab Calloway and the Gershwins, the story moves through time and place to capture a beloved American era. "The All Night Strut" plays from April 20 to June 25. "The Drowsy Chaperone" opens in mid-summer. It received five Tony Awards when it premiered in 2006, including Best Book and Best Original Score. A theater super-fan leads audiences on a literal tour of his favorite (fictitious) musical come to life, 1928’s "The Drowsy Chaperone," featuring lovers, bumblers, theater producers, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs and a tipsy chaperone. Performances are from July 6 to Sept. 3, 2017. OCT's fall show, "Baskerville," was written by Ken Ludwig ("Lend Me A Tenor"). Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson must crack the mystery of the hound of the Baskervilles before a family curse dooms its newest heir. Five actors deftly portray more than 40 characters. Baskerville runs from Sept. 14 to Nov. 5. OCT will finish its season with a classic tale of romance, "She Loves Me," with music by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick and book by Joe Masteroff. Two co-workers who loathe each other carry on a romance as pen pals, unaware of the other’s real identity until they finally decide to meet in person. Performances are from Nov. 16 to Dec. 31. In addition to its core season of five shows, OCT will continue its popular “One Night Only” series. Here's the lineup: • Feb. 15: Improvisation troupe The Hamazons • Feb. 22: Rogue Suspects • March 1: Jeff Pevar • March 22: Flamenco Pacifico • March 29: The Brothers Reed • May 17: Jerry Lee’s Lady Bits • May 24: Comedian Marc Price • Sept. 20: Heather Lundstedt O’Neill On Sept. 27, Broadway legend Faith Prince and Jason Graae will perform their most requested and memorable Broadway numbers. Those who buy subscriptions can start purchasing tickets Sept. 13. Individual tickets go on sale beginning Oct. 4. Call 541-488-2902 or order online at www.oregoncabaret.com .
