Charity walk aids nerve disease patients Saturday Sep 2, 2017 at 5:33 PM Sep 2, 2017 at 5:33 PM A charity walk to help patients suffering from nerve disease begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Allendale Elementary School, 2320 Williams Highway, Grants Pass. Proceeds benefit the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association, which works to find a treatment for Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, the most common inherited nerve disease. The disease affects the hands, arms, feet and legs of approximately 1 in 2,500 Americans. Patients gradually lose muscle tissue and their sense of touch in affected areas. The entry fee for each walker is $25 for adults and $15 for kids age 12 and younger. Every participant will receive a "Walk 4 CMT" shirt. To register, visit cmta.akaraisin.com/Grantspass.
