Animal shelter adds second pet vaccination day in January Wednesday Dec 27, 2017 at 8:44 AM Local report The closure of Medford’s Pet Country store also ended the low cost pet vaccination clinic that has been held there for many years on the first Saturday of each month. Jackson County Animal Services in Phoenix will help fill the void by adding a second shot clinic date to its January schedule. The added vaccination clinic will take place at the shelter, 5595 S. Pacific Highway, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6. The regularly scheduled Animal Services pet vaccination clinic will also be held from 11 am. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20. Vaccinations, provided by a veterinarian, are $10 each, cash only. Vaccinations available for dogs are rabies and distemper/parvo booster. Dogs are required by law to be vaccinated for rabies and licensed. Vaccinations available for cats are rabies and distemper/rhino/calici booster. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old. Pets who are ill, on antibiotics, in heat or on cortisone products cannot be vaccinated. Pet licenses can also be purchased by cash, credit card, or check, with rabies certification.
