She was born August 5, 1923, in Quebec, Canada to Joseph and Lillian Lagana (Trembley). She married Thomas DeCarlo in Toronto, Ontario, Canada June 5, 1943. Thomas DeCarlo died in Medford, Ore. in 1992. Gloria and her husband left Canada to move to Los Angeles, Calif. in 1951. She worked as a CNA at Daniel Freeman Hospital in Los Angeles for years before moving to Medford. During the 1960s, while living in Los Angeles, Gloria entered and won Queen for a Day with host Jack Hailey, a very popular TV show during that era. She left Medford and moved to Hilo, Hawaii for five years, then returned to Medford to be near her family. While in her 70s, Gloria decided to attend Southern Oregon College to pursue her Criminology degree, which she received. Gloria loved to tell jokes and had file folders full of various jokes that she had cut out of magazines, newspapers, or heard on TV and saved them for years. Survivors include her daughters, Yvonne DeCarlo of Jacksonville, Ore. and Louise DeCarlo of Vermont; sons, Roger DeCarlo of Portland, Ore., Larry DeCarlo of Canada, Danny DeCarlo of Medford, Ore., and Tim Buckley of New York; and several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; twin sister, Maria Cole; and brother, Arthur Lagana. Arrangements made by Memory Gardens, Medford. Contributions can be made to C.A.T.S., 104 N. Ross Lane, Medford, OR 97501.
