Adam David Corman, 21, was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on one count of first-degree aggravated theft. Police suspect Corman stole $20,000 from a safe at Noel Lesley Event Services Inc. in Ashland earlier this year, said Jackson County sheriff’s Detective Colin Fagan. Corman worked as a groundskeeper for the business before quitting his job a few months ago, Fagan said. Fagan said Corman has already admitted to taking the money while his boss was out of town on business. The theft was reported Feb. 18. Investigators served a search warrant at Corman’s First Street home in Talent and found receipts and records indicating that he had purchased jewelry, perfume and clothes for a woman he was trying to "wine and dine", Fagan said. Police believe Corman paid cash for a hotel room in Jacksonville where he and the woman stayed on the night of Feb. 13. On Feb. 26, Corman went online and paid cash for a Toyota 4-Runner that he gave to the woman as a gift, Fagan said. Corman was being held in the jail Wednesday night on $10,000 bail.
