GP, South take top honors at SOC golf meet In what has become a trend in Southern Oregon Conference girls golf, Grants Pass and South Medford finished 1-2 in the team race and Tai Kinney of North Medford took the individual crown in an all-SOC tournament at Rogue Valley Country Club Thursday. Tai Kinney shot 1-over-par 74 despite taking a triple-bogey 6 on the 11th hole. South�s Abby Fowler was runner-up at 77, and the Panthers� Kacy Clark came in at 81. MARY�S 10, PHOENIX JV 0 � Junior pitcher Sarah Fetty struck out seven and didn�t issue a walk to improve to 3-0 with a five-inning, two-hitter in the non-conference home game. Shawna Jackson led the Crusaders (4-2) with two runs and two RBIs. Jackson scored the first run when she reached on an error and eventually scored on a wild pitch in the first inning. The senior catcher ended the game by the 10-run mercy rule with an RBI double that scored Libby Trum, who had singled.
