Gates open at 5:45 p.m., and a dinner for VIP ticket holders will be served at 6 p.m. Lawn seating is $33 at the show, $59 for reserved seating. A dinner and preferred seating package is available for $119, and a VIP Premium seating, dinner and after-party package is $169. A portion of every ticket is a tax-deductible donation to the Holly Theatre project. All tickets can be purchased online at hollytheatre.org or by calling 541-772-3797. Tickets also are available through the Holly's sister venue — the Cascade Theatre — in Redding. Lawn seating tickets are available at EdenVale's tasting rooms in Medford and Ashland and at Terra Firma stores in Medford and Jacksonville. » Social News A construction crew has been busy inside the Holly Theatre restoring the foyer to its former glory, which will give theater-goers the impression they’ve been swept away to Venice. “Part of the reason for the remodel is to give people an idea of what the theater will look like,” said George Kramer, a local historic preservationist. Once finished, the walls will have a golden hue, and columns will be decorated with floral details that were uncovered during demolition. Hanging lamps that were painted black will be restored to reveal their former color and detail. “Every time you open something up, you find something cool,” said Dave Hammond, owner of Hammond Construction Co. “It’s always a treasure hunt around here.” Jefferson Live!, which is spearheading the Holly's restoration, has raised almost half the $4 million of the expected cost to complete the restoration. The foyer remodel will cost $50,000. A special automatic front door mechanism to make the building compliant with disability rules will cost about $5,000. Hammond renovated the outside façade of the Holly in 2012 and repaired cracked structural beams in the ceiling. The theater got a boost last year when actor Jim Belushi was named honorary chair of the Holly effort. While Hammond has been busy working on the restoration at the Holly Theatre, some passersby have done a double-take because of his resemblance to Belushi. “Somebody introduced me as Jim Belushi the other day to a woman,” he said. “A few people have said I look like him.” Belushi may like the limelight, but Hammond prefers being a behind-the-scenes kind of guy. Randy McKay, executive director of Jefferson Live!, said the foyer should give people a good impression of what the interior will look like. Even with Hammond Construction doing its work at cost, McKay said it’s still an expensive undertaking to renovate the foyer. “Any of the areas where you have to do decorative treatments, it costs some money,” he said. McKay said he hopes to have some good news about fundraising in the near future. Kramer said it’s been difficult to figure out what the original colors were in the theater. Luckily, someone had installed doors over the columns, which covered the paint detail. “Now we know what the original colors are,” he said. Other areas of the theater have been more difficult to figure out. Some of the original colors have been obscured by grime and cigarette smoke, but Kramer is working to uncover what lies beneath.
