Head-on collision puts two in hospital Two people suffered broken ribs and two others were hurt when two cars collided on Highway 62 Wednesday in Eagle Point. One of the drivers, Obadiah Luke Hansen, 18, was cited for reckless driving. Mary Margaret Nesberg, 34, was driving north on the highway in a 1994 Ford Aerostar van, according to the Oregon State Police, and had slowed to make a right turn onto Linn Road just after 11:30 a.m. As she was doing so, Hansen made a left turn off of Linn Road in his 1968 Chevrolet pickup and headed south. Hansen's truck slid sideways, state police said, and then crossed into the northbound lane, hitting Nesberg's van head on. The vehicles came to rest blocking both lanes of the highway. Nesberg, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered bumps, bruises and a broken kneecap. She was transported to Rogue Valley Medical Center and was listed in fair condition Wednesday night. Two of her three passengers also were hurt. Wilma Cook, 52, who also was wearing a seat belt, was admitted overnight at Providence Medford Medical Center with broken ribs, cuts and numerous other injuries. She was listed in fair and stable condition. Loren Michael Nesberg Jr., 5, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered a large cut on his forehead. Alexandria Louise Nesberg, 3, in a car seat, was not injured. Both were taken to Rogue Valley Medical Center, where they were treated and released. Hansen, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered a broken rib and cuts and was taken to Providence Medford Medical Center. He was treated and released.
