They are: Roxy Ann Lanes ZACH UHLES — A 16-year-old sophomore at Crater High. Uhles, a two-year member of the district all-star team, has an average of 204 at Roxy Ann Lanes, 203 at Lava Lanes and 200 in the Classic Division of the Oregon Junior Classic Tournaments. He has high games of 279, 277 and 276 and scored a high series of 741. Uhles, who is also the recipient of the Jeremy Hasha Memorial Sportsmanship Award, has been a member of the Medford area YABA for 10 years. CIPRIANA VALDEZ — A 17-year-old at South Medford High. Advertisement Valdez has improved her average by 23 pins since last winter. In local tournaments, she’s taken first place in the Marshall Holman Triple Play and has rolled games of 225 and 207. Her high series is 590. Valdez plans on joining the Air Force when she graduates and hopes to make the USAF bowling team. Lava Lanes PAULA HOPER — A 17-year-old senior at North Medford High. Hoper helped North Medford to the district championship and was named to the district all-star team. She bowls in the Generation X Scholarship League at Lava Lanes, where she carries a 168 average and has notched high games of 245 and 226 and a high series of 621. She will hold a benefit bowling tournament for cancer victims at Lava Lanes. WILLIAM GERBER — A 14-year-old at Grants Pass High. Gerber was named rookie of the year for Southern Oregon Bowling after leading the Cavemen to a second-place spot at district. He also bowls in the Generation X Scratch League at Lava Lanes. Gerber has recorded two 300 games this year and has rolled several 700 series, including a 774.
