On Sunday, with Bigbee and Sieberts in the box, and an infield that can show the class the Medford infield has shown, fast ball is assured no matter who swings the willow. Scholtz and Rudy are developing team work around the keystone sack that any club could be proud of, and McIntyre's clean fielding and wonderful throwing arm make him the real class as a third sacker. Curly, at first, is a regular "old reliable," and the only problem in the outfield is to find men who can smash the pill, as it is the exception for one of our own men to drop a fly. ASHLAND AND VICINITY Beginning July 18, extra train service on the Southern Pacific affords a through sleeper from Sacramento to Klamath Falls during the outing season, with Crater Lake as the objective point. The return trip may be made overland, if one desires, through either the Ashland or Medford gateways. Local churchmen are viewing with interest the proposal to merge Pacific university at Forest Grove, a Congregational institution, with Albany college at Albany, a Presbyterian school of higher learning. The Congregationalists of Portland adopted a resolution against the movement. Evidently educational unity remains as far from accomplishment as that of the Christian kind. Movies of the roundup period, as taken by Fred Hull of Central Point, are being developed in Portland, ready for exhibition at an early date, with the result that several show houses have already filed applications for the privilege of exhibiting them. From the manner in which boys are roping each other on the streets, it is evident that the juvenile element has become imbued with the roundup fever. Some of the lads wield the rope with dexterity.
