Balanced South wins boys golf tourney ROSEBURG - Adding another accomplishment to its ledger, the South Medford boys golf team won an all-Southern Oregon Conference tournament at Roseburg Country Club on Monday. Noah Horstman (74), Alan Johnson (75), Brodie Sullivan (75) and Ryan Ulbright (77) combined to shoot the Panthers (301 total) past runner-up Klamath Union (305). North Medford's Chris Daggitt was the individual medalist, firing a 72 to finish one stroke better than teammate Adam Browne, Roseburg's Pat Jovin and KU's Cameron Gordon. As a team, the Black Tornado (307) tied with Roseburg for third place. Grants Pass (329), Crater (335), Eagle Point (345) and Ashland (349) rounded out the team scoring. District 6 Boys Golf SKYLINE MEET - At Klamath Falls, Henley's Jeremy Voehl and Justin Cantrell tied for medalist honors at a Skyline Conference meet at Running Y. Voehl and Cantrell each shot an 80 to lead the Hornets to a first-place total of 329. Jeff Cady shot an 83 to pace second-place Mazama, while David Moran finished with an 85 to pace third-place Phoenix. SOC Girls Golf ROSEBURG CLAIMS SOC TOURNAMENT - At Grants Pass, Heather Warner took medalist honors to lead Roseburg to a 53-stroke team victory. Warner shot a 74 and the Indians totaled 330 to top runners-up Stephanie Johns (79) and her entire Ashland team (383). Grants Pass (397), North Medford (398), Crater (425), South Medford (444), Klamath Union (444) and Eagle Point (incomplete) rounded out the competition at Grants Pass Country Club, which is currently an abbreviated, 16-hole course due to construction.
