October 13. 2014 12:03PM Ashland named Google 'eCity' for second year in a row Ashland has been named Google's 2014 eCity of Oregon for the second straight year. The award recognizes cities with the strongest online business communities that use the Web to attract new customers and connect with clients. Google and independent research firm IPSOS worked together to determine the winners in each state. "Our eCity Awards recognize the new 'digital capitals' of America," Google public affairs manager Darcy Nothnagle said in a news release.  Noble Coffee and Blackstone Audio were singled out as innovative businesses in the awards presentation today, which featured Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Oregon, state Rep. Peter Buckley, D-Ashland, Ashland Mayor John Stromberg, Ashland Chamber of Commerce representatives and business owners.
