Medford police on Sunday arrested Payne on charges of third-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a minor, driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail in lieu of $36,000 bail. Weapons — Miguel Batista-Moreno, 22, no address available. Medford police on Monday arrested Moreno-Batista on charges of unlawful possession of a gun, possession of amphetamines and first-degree possession of a forged instrument. He was lodged in the jail without bail while his immigration status is reviewed by federal authorities. Drugs — Jorge Armando Cisneros, 24, of the 1400 block of West Main Street, Medford. Medford police on Monday arrested Cisneros on a charge of possession of amphetamines and on a warrant for failing to appear on a traffic violation. He was lodged in the jail, then released on his own recognizance. Assault — Michael John Chariter, 28, of the 800 block of Swing Lane, Medford. Medford police on Monday arrested Chariter on one count each of second-degree assault, fourth-degree assault, harassment and two outstanding misdemeanor warrants. He was lodged in the jail in lieu of bail of more than $1 million. Robbery — Jacob Michael Barnett, 18, no address available. Medford police on Monday arrested Barnett on charges of third-degree robbery, resisting arrest and second-degree theft. He was lodged at the Jackson County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bail. Crime reports Theft — 6700 block of Crater Lake Highway, White City. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies took a report at 3:04 p.m. Monday of the theft of four security lights valued at $1,000. Miscellaneous Jail releases — A total of 123 inmates were released last week from the Jackson County Jail to meet its court-ordered cap of 190 inmates. Of those, 38 were released before their scheduled court appearances, three were granted early release from their sentences and 82 were released for miscellaneous reasons.
