Downtown, Christmas is over but light on Main will stay Christmas is finally over. Need proof? Just look at Vogel Park. The city of Medford took down its Christmas tree on Friday as well as most of the other holiday decorations -- weeks after the holiday ended. The tree had stood with its drooping decorations until the city could arrange a time to bring a crane in to dismantle the 42-foot-tree, said Medford parks director Greg Jones. The decorations that won't be taken down are the miniature white lights in the trees along Main Street. The Heart of Medford Association, the city and the Medford Urban Renewal Agency worked together to install the lights from Riverside Avenue to the railroad tracks. The goal is to have lights in the trees along Main Street all the way from Riverside to Oakdale Avenue. "It's to make the downtown more festive, bright, cheery and pleasant to the eye to look at," said Scott Henselman, a downtown businessman.
