McIntyre pitched for Medford, the services of Bill Caster being lost by his jumping to Gold Hill. Rudy Scholtz, the Santa Clara college star, played short for Medford. Grants Pass will play in this city next Sunday and has wired for outside players to help in the revenge game. The Medford infield was a stone wall and is one of the best in the history of the city. A week from Sunday Medford goes to Klamath Falls for the first game of the season with that city. Caster, Pernoll and Coleman will make up the outfield for their hitting. Lines are out for a pitcher. Klamath Falls has a stronger team than last year. They will play here two weeks from Sunday. The management of the locals asks that all lovers of baseball rally to the support of the team, as its showing to date entitles it to something more than slim crowds that have been on hand. JACK MORRILL'S BARN AT ORCHARD BURNED Fire at 10:30 this morning totally destroyed the barn on the Riverside orchards, owned by Jack F. Morrill, three miles from Gold Hill, causing a loss of between $120 and $1,500, fully covered by insurance. The origin of the fire is unknown, being blamed either to spontaneous combustion of two tons of new hay, put in the barn last week, or defective wiring. The fire had gained considerable headway before it was discovered. There was no fire fighting facilities except that available on the place. BAND CONCERT TO BE HELD TUESDAY This week's concert by the Medford band will be held Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock in the city park band stand. It was deemed advisable to hold this week's concert earlier in the week, as last week's performance was interrupted in the middle of the program by rain, the bandsmen being compelled to retire to the band room where the latter part of the evening was enjoyed in practicing. The concert program will be published in Tuesday's papers.
