The Raiders extended their conference record-setting start to 9-0 and captured their 13th straight over a league foe dating to last season with a 90-55 romp over the Eagles. SOU (12-7) led just 23-20 13 minutes into the game before a 14-2 run helped result in a 39-24 halftime edge. The Raiders, who won their seventh straight overall and fifth consecutive at home, switched to an even higher gear in the second half. Senior all-star point guard Sara Marks scored 14 of her game-high 22 points during the big Raider second-half run, while senior all-star forward Kara Magee-Arick canned four 3-pointers en route to 16 points. Marks also led all players with six assists and five steals, and senior center Ashley Nunley contributed nine points, nine rebounds and three blocks to the winning cause. Men’s Basketball NORTHWEST COLLEGE 81, SOUTHERN OREGON 75 — At Ashland, Southern Oregon fell behind by 25 points in the second half and couldn’t make up the difference in the Cascade Conference game. Senior all-star forward Dan Schneider converted 11 of his first 13 shots and scored 26 of his game-high 27 points as the Eagles (9-13, 3-7) raced to a 63-38 lead with 14:32 to go. Senior guard T.J. Caughell scored eight of SOU’s 10 unanswered points over the next two minutes, and freshman forward Ryan Gabel contributed nine points in an 11-4 run to cut the deficit to five, 70-65, at the 7:13 mark. Gabel nailed a 3-pointer to move SOU within two at 77-75 with 31 seconds left. Gabel and senior guard Zac Olson scored 18 apiece for SOU. Freshman center Nick Borrevik racked up 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
