No butts about it -- file report I was driving one day and noticed a man flick his cigarette butt out his pickup truck's window. It seems there should be laws against this. According to the Medford Police Department, it is against the law to throw lighted material from a vehicle and anyone who witnesses such an offense has the right to file a complaint. In Medford, citizens should note the time, date and place of the offense and jot down a general description of the vehicle and its driver. Complainants also must record the offending vehicle's license plate number. With that information in hand, citizens can file a traffic complaint at the MPD.
