October 09. 2014 2:00AM No farewells were spoken No time to say goodbye You were gone before we knew And only God knows why Steven Douglas Rowe 19520109 - 20141003 Loving husband , father, brother, friend, and mentor will be remembered and greatly missed by all who knew the brilliant, witty man with a huge heart and passion for life and for all that he cared deeply about. Survived by his adoring wife, Renee Fox-Rowe; loving children, Christopher Robert Rowe, 29 and Allison Marie Rowe, 27; four step-grandchildren; his sisters, Vicki Rowe of Portland, Ore. and Joyce Singer; step-daughter, Dina Klockow; and Winslow the Wonder Dog. Steve, founder and successful business owner of Ashland Outdoor Store of 20 years, came to Ashland after retiring from Microsoft (employee #50) as manager of software language group. He graduated with honors in math and sciences from UC Davis and served in the Air Force as a radar repairman. He was a fly fisherman, amateur photographer, jazz guitarist, and poker player extraordinaire with a local group of friends for 16 years, as well as a total gear head. Steve's children meant to world to him. He was extremely proud of them. Sometimes he would say to an old friend, Can I just brag about my kids for a minute? Chris, earning his Ph.D in Literature at Tuffs University in Boston, Mass. and Allison, Attorney at Law in Portland, Ore. Steve's Lovely Wife, Renee as he would call her, were together for 12 blissful years and loved and lived a joyous life together. You're always with me, my Sweetheart because we are just better together and will be crazy in love forever. - Renee The celebration of life for our Steve will be held from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Grizzly Peak Winery 1600 E. Nevada St. Ashland, OR. 97520. Scott Carter will be officiating. This is an outdoor venue. Cards and flowers may be sent to Ashland Outdoor Store 37 N. 3rd St. in Ashland.
