Tate earns medalist at Dist. 6 tourney Apr 24, 2002 12:00 AM A A CAVE JUNCTION - Amanda Tate was the lone sub-100 golfer with a medalist-earning 97 for Hidden Valley at a District 6 girls tournament at the Illinois Valley Golf Club. The Mustangs took the top team honors with a 495, while Illinois Valley finished second at 527. Phoenix scored an incomplete with only three golfers finishing 18 holes. Miranda Akerman shot a 105 for the Pirates to take second. "Our No. — golfer (Jessica McMahon) was out with an illness," said Illinois Valley coach Collin Wilson. "She usually shoots a sub-100 so that slowed us down a little. "Even with her we would have had a tough time catching Hidden Valley."
