Moore pitched a one-hitter with 14 strikeouts and five walks in the opener and tossed a no-hit shutout with seven Ks and three walks in Game 2 to improve to 13-3. Alexander, a freshman, smashed a three-run homer in the first inning of the nightcap before Meyer stepped to the plate and launched a solo shot for the Panthers (13-3, 9-3 SWC), who led 7-0 after the smoke had cleared in the frame. Tessa McAninch connected on a two-run double in the top of the first inning of Game 1 to give the Axemen (3-13, 1-11) a 2-0 lead before the home team rallied. In the bottom of the inning, Bekah Britton hit an RBI single, Meyer had a run-scoring effort and Jewel Burgoyne-Russell came home on a bases-loaded walk. In the second contest, Lexi Jones was 3-for-4 with four RBIs, Alexander 2-for-3 with four RBIs and three runs scored and Meyer 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Abby Siroshton had two hits and three RBIs to spark a Marist (12-3, 9-2 MWL) offense that went on to outscore the Comets 6-1 the rest of Game 1 and opened the second game with a six-run first inning. Sydney Beck went 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI for Crater (8-8, 5-5) in Game 2. HENLEY 25-21, PHOENIX 0-0: At Klamath Falls, Phoenix managed just three hits in the Skyline doubleheader against Henley pitchers MacKenzie Virtue and Lilly Poe. In the opener, Taylor Wallack collected both hits for Phoenix (2-10, 2-4 Sky). Amber Taylor ruined Poe’s perfect game in Game 2 with a one-out single in the fifth.
