February 16, 1931 - January 27, 2017 Otis Henry Bostwick, 85, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 at his residence. He was born February 16, 1931 in Talent, Oregon to Ruth Fredella Maharry and Henry Otis Bostwick. Otis was the great-grandson of pioneers who settled in Ruch in the 1800s. As a child, Otis and his family moved to Klamath Falls, Ore. In 1948 on a blind date he met Julia Mae Akers. They were married in Klamath Falls in 1949. Otis served in the U.S. National Guard as a Sergeant First Class from 1949 to 1952, and in the U.S. Army Reserves as a First Lieutenant from 1952 to 1961. He spent his career as a fieldman for Carnation-Albers and Grange Co-op. Otis was a wonderful woodworker and spent many hours making dollhouses, birdhouses, and anything else that was requested of him. He is survived by his wife, Julie; daughters, Cheryl Dixon (Steve) of Klamath Falls and Sandra Bostwick (Steve Frost) of Jacksonville, Ore.; son, Rick (Denise) of Medford, Ore.; six grandchildren, Tracy Melton (Joe); Toby Dixon( Sarah Svejcar), John Bostwick (Chloe), Misty Bostwick (Chris Atchley), Anthony Free (Patty), and Jessica Free. He is also survived by five great-grandsons. Otis was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Lincoln and Charles.
