Ashland formulates Climate and Energy Plan; open house planned Tuesday Comment By Local report MailTribune.com By Local report Posted May. 23, 2016 at 12:26 PM By Local report Posted May. 23, 2016 at 12:26 PM » Social News The city of Ashland is developing a Climate and Energy Plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help prepare the community for a changing climate. The public is invited to participate in a series of three open houses to help shape the plan, which the city hopes will reflect the community’s goals and vision for the future. Ultimately, the plan will guide investments in on-the-ground measures designed to efficiently reduce emissions and build resilience. The first open house is set for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, at the Historic Ashland Armory, 208 Oak St. There will be time to visit stations, talk to the project team and members of the mayor-appointed committee charged with guiding the process and to share thoughts. There will also be a short presentation at 6 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend to learn more about how climate change may impact Ashland and to give the city input as the planning process gets underway.
