ODF Restricts All Campfires East of I-5 By John Stoeckl Updated: Jul 22, 2021 05:06 PM A A Effective Thursday, 22 July 2021, Oregon Department of Forestry is restricting all campfires east of Interstate 5. The press release states “...effective Thursday, July 22 no campfires will be allowed in state parks and in state-managed forests east of Interstate 5, even in designated campfire areas.” According to Oregon State Parks Chris Havel, this is an early restriction this year due to excessive heat, lack of snowmelt and dry weather conditions. He expects the restrictions to remain in place until sometime in the fall as weather conditions change.
