Beatty man dies in Highway 140 crash By Mail Tribune staff Jan 26, 2021 12:21 PM A A A Beatty man died Monday afternoon in a car crash on Highway 140 in Klamath County, according to a news release. Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to the crash at 3 p.m., near milepost 32. The investigation shows that William Springer, 41, was traveling westbound in a Nissan pickup when he lost control of the vehicle on an icy stretch. His vehicle left the highway and rolled down an embankment. Springer died at the scene. The lone passenger in the vehicle, 51-year-old Michelle Thomasson, also of Beatty, was transported to Sky Lakes Medical Center. The extent of her injuries wasn’t immediately known.
