This book, a sequel to "The Fire Within," attempts to answer a question that might never have occurred to you: Do dragons like snow, and if so, why? Advertisement This magical tale involves a powerful clay dragon that belongs to a boy named David. Add some mystical polar bears, and you've got a dragon story unlike any you have ever read. What could be the connection between dragons and the Arctic, David wonders. Chris d'Lacey's writing is sometimes exciting and sometimes silly. But that seems in keeping with the worlds he created — one that seems almost real and one that is beyond imagination. Dragon lovers who have read "Eragon" and "Eldest" might try "Dragon Rider" by Cornelia Funke, "The Dragon of Lonely Island" by Rebecca Rupp and "The Book of Dragons" by Michael Hague. D'Lacey says he's hard at work on "Fire Star," which also will feature winged mythical beasts. On a screen "City of Bees: A Children's Guide to Bees" is an interesting and educational half-hour DVD about the hairy, four-winged insects; lesson plans are included. Younger kids will enjoy "Maya & Miguel: Cinco De Maya," a DVD that includes five episodes of the PBS series. Video games released this week: Juka and the Monophonic Menace, a Zelda-like title for GameBoy Advance, has 2,500 screens to explore. Dino Master, for Nintendo DS, has players hunt for dinosaur fossils and then rebuild creatures for prehistoric battles. For ages 10 and older, Scurge: Hive, on DS and GBA, features a bounty hunter who battles a virulent organism. Sudoku-Mania has a near-infinite number of puzzles for DS. Puzzle Challenge: Crosswords & More!, for PlayStation 2 and PSP, includes some two-person games. City Life, on PC, allows players to build an urban area. Just for laughs Knock, knock. Who's there? Olive. Olive who? Olive you so much! Q: What do you get when you cross a dinosaur with a pig? A: Jurassic Pork. Two snakes are sitting on a rock. The first snake asks, "Are we poisonous?" The second snake asks, "Why?" And the first snake replies, "I just bit my tongue."
