Medford police arrested Hayes Sunday on a charge of possessing amphetamine. She was lodged in the Jackson County Jail and later released to meet limits on jail population. Drugs — Blayne Michael Boardman, 25, of the 600 block of Catherine Street, Medford. Medford police arrested Boardman Sunday on charges of failing to appear in court to answer charges of possessing amphetamine and identity theft and computer crime. He was lodged in the county jail on bail of $22,000. Drugs — Jeremy James Winslow, 24, of the 8100 block of Upper Applegate Road, Jacksonville. U.S. Forest Service law enforcement personnel arrested Winslow Sunday on a charge of failing to appear in court to answer charges of driving under the influence of marijuana, and charges of recklessly endangering another person, reckless driving, attempting to elude a law enforcement officer and driving while suspended. He was lodged in the county jail on bail of $22,000. Assault — Fidel Fabian Moreno, 38, of the 2200 block of Table Rock Road, Medford. Medford police arrested Moreno Sunday on two charges of fourth-degree assault, a charge of harassment, and two charges of failing to appear in court to answer charges of driving while suspended. He was lodged in the county jail on bail on $18,000. Failure to register as a sex offender — Scott Stephen Witter, 32, of the 1800 block of East Jackson Street, Medford. Medford police arrested Witter Sunday on charges of failing to register as a sex offender. He was lodged in the county jail and released after posting $5,000 bail. Rape — Rafael Cortez-Martinez, 20. Medford police arrested Cortez-Martinez Sunday on charges of third-degree rape and being an illegal alien. He was lodged without bail in the county jail. Advertisement Crime reports Burglary — Medford police took reports Sunday of burglaries at homes in the 600 block of North Willamette Avenue, the 700 block of Royal Avenue and the 700 block of West Jackson Street. Fire calls Grass fires — Firefighters from Jackson County Fire District 3 extinguished a grass fire Sunday in the 4900 block of Antelope Road. Flames burned about a half acre but no structures were threatened. At press time, firefighters had not determined what started the fire. Crews from the Oregon Department of Forestry responded to a grass fire in the 2300 block of Raven Way in Central Point that was apparently kindled by fireworks. Miscellaneous Jackson County sheriff’s deputies went to the 1100 block of Neil Creek Road outside Ashland Sunday after an intoxicated man discharged a shotgun and talked of suicide. Capt. Joe Puckett said the man was taken into custody and held until mental health counselors could evaluate him. No criminal charges were expected to be filed, Puckett said.
