Mountain View runs past the Tornado BEND Mountain View used an explosive transition game to pin an 88-55 loss on undermanned North Medford in non-conference boys basketball Saturday. The Black Tornado (0-2) is playing without four key players on Norths football team, which is in the state title game. "We were outrebounded badly in the first half," North Medford coach Gene Quilhaugh said. "We were slow to get back on defense. They went over the top of us." North Medford junior Gabe Burchfiel scored 14 of his team-high 18 points in the second half. The 6-foot-4 post added five rebounds and four steals. "He was a very active ballplayer tonight," said Quilhaugh. "He has some excellent back-to-the-basket moves and he used his quickness." The Black Tornado received inspired performances from Ben Anderson and Thomas OBrien, who combined for 18 points. "Theyre our two senior warriors," said Quilhaugh. "They went as hard as they could for as long as they could. That will bode well for us when the other bodies appear."
