Margot C. Howe Jan 21, 2017 12:00 AM A A February 15, 1920 - December 4, 2016 Margot C. Howe (née Trumpler) was born February 15, 1920 in San Jose, California and was raised on top of Mt. Hamilton. She attended Reed College and UC Berkeley, receiving a BA in psychology at Reed in 1941. In May, 1942 she married Ralph Donaldson Keeney (died 1943). Margot met and married Horace Albert "Bert" Howe in February, 1947. The family moved to West Los Angeles, Portland, Ore., back to West Los Angeles, and Berkely, where Bert and Margot divorced in 1961. Margot studied occupational therapy at San Jose State University (MS in 1968) and Boston University (Ed.D in 1973). In 1973 Margot married Morris Skodak (died 1979). She joined the faculty at Tufts University, receiving tenure as a professor of occupational therapy in 1984. Margot retired in 1989 and moved to Mount Shasta, Calif. where she met and married Albert Germann (died 2009), a retired professor of criminology. They moved to Ashland, Ore. in 2002 where Margot continued to be active in the Unitarian-Universalist Church for many years. She passed away December 4, 2016. She lived a long and full life and let her light shine brightly. She is survived by two sisters, one brother, three sons, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Beloved by many in communities on both coasts of this continent and respected by many more, she will be missed. A celebration of Margot's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. February 25, 2017 at Rogue Valley Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship, 87 Fourth Street, Ashland, Ore.
