Was this Britt’s top season for attendance? How many people does it draw all summer? How many shows sell out? — Christina M., Medford Funny you should ask, Christina. Britt recently released the numbers. At 69,549, 2002 attendance missed breaking Britt’s all-time record by only 320 tickets. The record was set two years ago. Seventeen of 47 shows sold out, including Jewel, The Doobie Brothers, Keb’ Mo’, The B-52s, Ray Charles and others. Jethro Tull was a harbinger back in June when the veteran rockers became the first season-opening show in years to sell out. The days when you could walk into Britt shows with your picnic basket a few minutes before showtime and not expect to wind up way up the hill in back are long gone, at least for most shows.
