Ashland area homicide under investigation By Mail Tribune staff Updated: Sep 15, 2021 07:25 AM A A Police are investigating a homicide that occurred before dawn outside Ashland city limits. Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon 911 dispatchers received a homicide report at 2:14 a.m. Wednesday at an address on Eagle Mill Road near Ashland, according to a news release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. A suspect is in custody, according to the sheriff’s office. No details have yet been released as to identities of the suspect or victim, or how the victim died. As of shortly before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Eagle Mill Road is closed between the intersections of North Valley View and Butler Creek roads, according to Jackson County Roads, and officials ask motorists to use other routes. Officials expect the road to reopen by about noon.
