Eileen Adee to remain in RVTD race She has only herself to blame, but Eileen Adee wants everyone to know that news of her electoral demise is premature. Adee is a candidate for a position on the board of the Rogue Valley Transportation District. During a luncheon Thursday with the League of Women Voters, she announced her withdrawal from the race. The problem was time, she said. As incoming president of the League of Women Voters and a recent appointee to Medford�s Joint Transportation Subcommittee, she worried about being spread too thin. But after meeting with her supporters Friday, she now says she will remain in the race and try to make it work. "I won�t resign immediately, if I�m elected," she said. "I�ll tough it out." If she is elected but later resigns, the RVTD board would appoint a replacement. Her opponent in the race is former Medford mayoral candidate Susan Hand. Adee said she feels strongly about the need for transportation alternatives in the Rogue Valley. "There are so many solutions besides spending millions of dollars on construction just so we can run a few more cars through an intersection a little faster," she said. Ballots for the March 13 election will begin to go out in the mail today. Adee�s last-second change of heart didn�t affect her official status as a candidate because the ballots were already printed. Also up for grabs are positions on the boards of Rogue Community College; the Jackson Education Service District; and the Ashland, Central Point, Eagle Point, Medford and Phoenix-Talent school districts. Other races include boards for the Evans Valley Fire District, the Jackson County Fire District and the Bear Creek Valley Sanitary Authority.
