The annual pickup helps the troop raise funds to send Scouts to camp and support ongoing scouting expenses. Troop 7 Scouts hand-delivered more than 5,000 hang tags and envelopes to local homes in east Medford before Christmas. Several thousand more were delivered directly to mail boxes. Residents are asked to place the tag on their tree and place the tree by the curb in front of their house as early as possible on either Saturday. Trees that are picked up will be cut into firewood for Scout camping trips and the waste will be recycled. For maximum security, residents are asked to use the provided envelope to mail their donation directly to Troop 7 in care of the Medford United Methodist Church, 607 W. Main St., Medford, OR 97501. Questions and special requests can be emailed to [email protected].
