Here is what's happening this weekend: The second annual March of the Scarecrows will begin at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at Roosevelt Elementary, 112 Lindley St., Medford. The scarecrows are created by students and their families and will be auctioned during the Old-Time Harvest Fair to be held from 1-3 p.m. at the school. There will be traditional carnival games, penny candy and prizes, along with performances by dancers and a barbershop quartet. ScienceWorks Museum will present its Combustion of Science exhibit, and Jill Fjeldheim will present The Physics of Clowning. Children may help paint a giant mural, ride the Party Pony and purchase raffle tickets for a chance to take home the 100-pound Great Pumpkin. Carnival tickets are 25 cents. Games and raffle tickets are one ticket; pony rides, the photo booth and pizza are four tickets. All proceeds will benefit student activities and programs. Call 842-3840. Pheasant Fields Farm, 1865 Camp Baker Road, Phoenix, will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through October for its annual Harvest Festival. Activities include a pumpkin patch, a children's corn maze, horse-drawn hayrides, a vintage farm equipment display, a mini-pumpkin shooting gallery, pony rides, a farm animal exhibit and face painting. The Early Day Gas Engine and Tractor Association will present antique tractors on Saturday, Oct. 21, and Montana Soul will present country and folk music from 1-4 p.m. The Frontier Horse Soldiers, along with members of the Cascade Civil War Society, will be at the farm on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 21-22, to present living history demonstrations and talks about old Camp Baker. The farm's Country Store will offer fall produce and seasonal items, and Grandma's Country Kitchen will be serving apple cider, soda, hot dogs, sandwiches and caramel apples. Admission to the festival is free. Tickets are available for other events. A harvest dinner will be offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, at the Upper Applegate Grange, 3901 Upper Applegate Road, Jacksonville. The meal includes baked ham, green beans, corn pudding, salad, rolls, dessert and a beverage. There will be door prizes and music. Cost is $8: $3.50 for children under 12. Call 899-1412. White's Country Farm, 3939 Jacksonville Highway, Medford, will open its giant corn maze from 4-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 4-10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday through October. The giant corn maze becomes haunted after 6:30 p.m. Friday-Sunday. A children's corn maze and pumpkin patch will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., along with wagon and pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting and games. Food also will be available. Call 773-8031. The Farm, 51 S. Stage Road, Medford, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday and offers activities such as a pumpkin patch, a farm animal petting zoo, a hay maze, pony rides and a general store. Hay rides will be available Saturdays and Sundays. Call 535-1316. A Halloween carnival and book fair will be held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, in the gym at Central Point Elementary, 450 S. Fourth St., Central Point. There will be games, pumpkins, prizes and a costume parade with prizes.
