Camacho followed up a hat trick with two more goals in Monday’s 4-1 Skyline Conference boys soccer victory over host North Valley. “He’s humble and one of the fastest kids on the team,” said Pirates coach Dennis Flenner. “A lot of scorers can be kind of cocky, but he’s just quiet and goes out and works really, really hard. He’s got this natural ability to find the open spot.” Camacho knocked one in the eighth minute on a pass from Jesus Sixtos to put the Pirates (5-1, 3-0 Sky) on the scoreboard first. The Mustangs had a quick answer when Jordan Lauby matched with his goal to even the score just four minutes later. Camacho, however, struck again off his own rebound, which ricocheted off the Mustang goalkeeper in the 16th minute to put the Pirates ahead 2-1. The Pirates endured 61 minutes clinging to their one-goal edge until Sam Macias gave them breathing room in the 77th minute by finding the back of the net from 18 yards out. Phoenix’s Zach Castillo added another goal in the 80th minute on an assist from Isai Espana. Girls Soccer NORTH VALLEY 3, PHOENIX 0 : At Talent, goals by Baylee Touey and Haley Kersten extended North Valley's lead during Skyline Conference action.
