St. George, a junior outside, served 20 points, including four aces, in the 25-17, 25-20, 25-15 Butte Falls victory. St. George also was 8-of-16 hitting. Butte Falls is 6-1 overall, 4-0 in league. "She served for a ton of points," said Loggers coach Mike Harrington after St. George accounted for eight points in Game 1, seven in Game 2 and five in Game 3. A float serve acts in an unpredictable manner, like a knuckleball in baseball. "She has an awesome float serve and she just got on a roll," said Harrington. "It was really moving tonight. They had a lot of trouble with it." Junior middle Cassy Bartel had a big night at the net with six blocks, and junior outside Asia Million was 10-of-18 on kills and contributed six digs. Setter Krystle Rowley, a senior, notched 20 assists. CAMAS VALLEY 25-19-22-25-15, PROSPECT 23-25-25-18-6 — At Prospect, Camas Valley used its momentum from Game 4 to seal the win in a fifth and final contest. Shawna Scriven led Prospect (3-2, 2-1 Sky A) with six kills, while Candice Govenor and Candice Bennet each added three. Soccer BLANCHET 5, CASCADE CHRISTIAN 1 — A second-half adjustment helped Cascade Christian contend, but the damage was already done with a 4-0 Blanchet lead by halftime. Monica Weaver scored for Blanchet at the sixth minute, then Karrie Hagedorn netted three consecutive goals before intermission. Cascade’s Jessica Tresser scored on a give-and-go through pass from Katie O’Brien two minutes into the second half. Mollie Gathercoal and Natasha Gerig supplied steady defensive pressure to help Cascade (2-1) hold down the attack by Blanchet, last year’s state runner-up. Blanchet outshot the Challengers, 19-3, and had a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.
