Lytle sets Raider mark ASHLAND -- Senior Erin Lytle surpassed the school career assist record Wednesday night in leading Southern Oregon's volleyball team past visiting Chico State. The Raiders (10-2) dropped the first game before rebounding for a 13-15, 15-10, 15-1, 15-6 non-conference victory at McNeal Pavilion. Lytle registered 50 assists, 17 digs and three aces. Her 22nd assist, a set to junior middle hitter Beth Stidham early in the second game, was the 3,763 of her four-year career. That's one more than Tara Elder doled out from 1989 through 1992. By the end of the match, Lytle had 3,791 sets. "I feel very fortunate, and at the same time it definitely reflects the strength of the teams I've played on here," said the Ashland High graduate. Monica Fisher led the Raiders with 14 kills and Shelley Gorin added 13 as the Raiders won their fifth straight and 11th in the past 12 matches. SOU plays Pacific Union, a 15-4, 15-6, 15-7 loser to Oregon Tech on Wednesday, tonight at 7 p.m. Today's Sports Index Mail Tribune   Copyright The Mail Tribune 1999, Medford, OR U.S.A.
