Transgender Day of Remembrance: The Southern Oregon University Queer Resource Center will hold a candlelight vigil during the 16th annual Transgender Day of Remembrance beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, in the Third Eye Theatre art installation adjacent to the Stevenson Union and Taylor Hall on the SOU campus, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. The annual observance began after the 1998 murder of trans-woman Rita Hester in Allston, Mass., and the vigil commemorates lives lost over the past year.
