The Cougars scored 100 points to 99½ for the Mustangs. The IV relay team of Sam Green, Rory Kaberline, Josh Coronado and Caleb Renno defeated Hidden Valley by less than two seconds in the decisive event. The Cougars received the top individual performance of the meet from Jon Riley in the javelin. Riley won the event with a toss of 179-6, which is the best mark in Southern Oregon this season. The Mustang girls overcame three individual victories by Rogue River’s Shannon Jentzsch to capture team honors. Hidden Valley scored 96 points, while runner-up Rogue River tallied 92. Advertisement Jentzsch won the 100-hurdles (16.59) and 300-hurdles (49.37) with season-best times. She also won the pole vault (11-6) and ran a leg on the Chieftains’ victorious 4x400 relay.
