Fiegi chosen player of week Jan 08, 2008 12:00 AM A A PORTLAND — For the second time this season, Oregon Tech senior Ryan Fiegi was named Cascade Collegiate Conference player of the week. Fiegi, a former star at South Medford High School, guided the 17th-ranked Hustlin' Owls to a pair of wins over the weekend with averages of 27.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and five assists. The 6-foot-7 senior forward posted 14 points and 11 boards in Oregon Tech's win 74-66 win at Corban College on Friday. He followed that performance with a career-high 41 points, including four 3-pointers in row in the second half on Saturday, when OIT edged Concordia University, 81-79.. Fiegi soared to third place on Oregon Tech's all-time career scoring list with 1,503 points after the 55-point weekend. He passed Matt Foster (1,457), Harvey Sebree (1,481) and Bob Townsend (1,499). He now trails only No. 2 scorer Herb McEachin (1678 ) and the team's all-time top scorer Levell Hesia (2109). What makes this feat even more impressive is that Fiegi has only played for Tech for two and a half years. Fiegi was also named player of the week back on Dec. 5. Oregon Tech (14-2, 5-1 CCC) will play at Southern Oregon University on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at McNeal Pavilion.
