Nada nets 30 as SOU triumphs ASHLAND -- Nada Janackovic continued her deadeye shooting from the free-throw line and bombed in four 3-point baskets for good measure, leading the Southern Oregon University women to a 72-56 victory over Albertson on Thursday night. Janackovic converted 4-of-4 from the line to extend her streak to 23 in a row, tying a school record held by herself and former Raider standout Melissa Bogh. The Yugoslavian finished with a career-high 30 points as the Raiders won their fifth straight home game and set up a Cascade Conference showdown against Northwest Nazarene on Saturday night at McNeal Pavilion. Northwest Nazarene (24-3 overall, 9-0 Cascade Conference) is No. 4 in the NAIA national rankings while SOU (22-4, 8-2) is No. 5. "They beat us by seven points at their place six weeks ago and our girls are anxious to play them again," SOU coach Shirley Huyett said. Janackovic was red-hot in the first half of Thursday's game, making 10 of her first 13 shots as the Raiders took a 33-25 halftime lead. "Nada moves extremely well without the ball, and when she gets it, she's often in a good position to shoot," Huyett said. "She has a nice touch and a lot of confidence, and when you get those two things going, you can be awfully tough to stop." Point guard Ali Richards also had a big game with five points, 12 assists and five steals. The sophomore from Phoenix came within one assist of the school record.
