A Medford police officer Tuesday arrested Raines on four counts of first-degree theft. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he remained late Tuesday in lieu of $20,000 bail. Rape, sodomy — Logan Leverette Vaughan, 20, of the 500 block of South Modoc Avenue, Medford. A Medford police officer Tuesday arrested Vaughan on two counts of third-degree rape, two counts of third-degree sodomy, contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor and a probation violation. He was lodged in jail on $24,000 bail. Drugs — James Brian Vaughn, 22, no known address. A Medford police officer Tuesday arrested Vaughn on charges of delivering marijuana, manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana and a probation violation. He was lodged in jail on $55,000 bail. Eluding, assaulting a police officer — Steve Pitzl, 46, of the 1200 block of West 10th Street, Medford. A Medford police officer Tuesday arrested Pitzl on charges of attempting to elude a police officer in a vehicle, attempting to elude an officer on foot, assaulting a police officer, driving under the influence of intoxicants, resisting arrest and harassment. He was lodged in jail on $24,000 bail. Assault — Jeffery Kendall Gault, 41, of the 300 block of Oak Grove Road, Medford. A Medford police officer Tuesday arrested Gault on a charge of fourth-degree assault. He was lodged in jail and released after posting bail. Assault — Spencer Aaron Einhorn, 18, of the 700 block of Park Street, Ashland. Einhorn appeared Tuesday in Jackson County Circuit Court on an indictment charging him with two counts of third-degree assault. He was booked into jail and released on his own recognizance. Advertisement Assault, hit-and-run driving — Joseph Elzworth Charlton, 43, of the 3600 block of South Pacific Highway, Medford. A Jackson County sheriff’s deputy late Monday arrested Charlton on charges of hit-and-run driving causing injury, fourth-degree assault, driving with a suspended license and reckless driving. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Tuesday on $10,000 bail. Crime reports Theft — 1500 block of South Pacific Highway, Medford. A Medford police officer Tuesday took a report of a theft in which a laser projector and two laser lights valued at $33,100 were stolen from a vehicle. Miscellaneous School bus crash — No one was hurt Tuesday afternoon when a bus collided with another vehicle in Sams Valley, a Jackson County Fire District No. 3 spokesman said. Sheriff’s deputies went to the intersection of Duggan and Old Sams Valley roads at about 2:30 after receiving a report of the accident, according to a sheriff’s department report. Several children were reportedly on the bus at the time of the wreck, but no further information was available because sheriff’s officials did not return phone calls on Tuesday. Warrant arrests — Police on Tuesday arrested a registered sex offender on a parole violation, just two days after he was featured in a Crime Stoppers article in the Mail Tribune. Medford police found Paul Jay Pate, 41, hiding inside a home in the 2500 block of Reed Lane, police Sgt. Tim Doney said in a news release. Pate previously served prison time for first-degree sexual abuse in connection with an assault on a 14-year-old girl. Also found when police arrived was Patrick Richard Leets, 39. Leets was arrested for a parole violation and a separate charge of criminal mischief. Pate and Leets were both lodged in the Jackson County Jail without bail, police said.
